Crytek retires its current leaderboard system in Hunt: Showdown (opens in new tab)with the developer saying it's "not aligned with the original vision" for the feature.
The leaderboard will disappear in update 1.9 with Crytek working on a new iteration that can be implemented at a later date. "Leaderboards are a key feature of Hunt: Showdown," according to a developer update. “However, we believe that the current version is not in line with our original vision of recognizing the best of the best fighters. This is partly due to past issues with exploits and the focus on KD rather than high quality solo and team play.”

The developer cited community feedback as a major reason for temporarily removing leaderboards, saying it is beginning to work on "a better solution." There's no exact timeline for when the feature will be updated and reintroduced, but Crytek said it will continue to keep the community updated.
This is just a temporary removal from leaderboards: players will still be able to view their own stats and they will remain visible on profiles. Still, the decision seems to be largely in favor of the community. Some believe that removing the leaderboard won't solve the problem and want Crytek to go one step further and remove KD stats completely.
